At Beyond Borders, we are inspired by the Haitian proverb “the rock in the water doesn’t understand the misery of the rock in the sun.” Today, we are asking you to stand with those currently in the “sun”—our Haitian friends and neighbors living right here in the U.S. under the threat of deportation. The clock is ticking. On February 3, 2026 Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti is set to terminate. If the administration does not act now, over 350,000 Haitian people will lose their legal right to work and face the terrifying of being forcibly returned to Haiti.
